THE MODEL 41 & 42 WERE THE FIRST MODEL PRODUCED OF THE MODEL 40 SERIES. THE FIRST MACHINES WERE PRODUCED WITH A WOOD WRINGER PURCHASED OUT AND LATER CHANGED TO IRON FRAME WRINGER ASSEMBLED AT THE MAYTAG COMPANY. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE MODEL 44 ALL MODEL 40 SERIES HAD OVERLAPPING SERIAL NUMBERS STAMPED ON THE RIGHT FRONT LEG THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MODELS BEING THE POWER SOURCE. THE FOLLOWING SERIAL NUMBERS WOULD, BECAUSE OF THEIR DATES OF PRODUCTION, NECESSARILY BE MODEL 41'S OR MODEL 42'S.

REGULAR PRODUCTION ENDED 1924, 1 MADE 1926 & 3 MADE 1927. THE MODEL 45 WAS A MODEL 40 WITH AN ELECTRIC MOTOR WITH A BELT RUNNING TO THE PULLEY ADDED ON THE BASE UNDERNEATH THE MACHINE.
