MODEL 40 WOOD TUB HAND POWER

PRODUCED 1914-SEPT. 1928

THE MODEL 41 & 42 WERE THE FIRST MODEL PRODUCED OF THE MODEL 40 SERIES. THE FIRST MACHINES WERE PRODUCED WITH A WOOD WRINGER PURCHASED OUT AND LATER CHANGED TO IRON FRAME WRINGER ASSEMBLED AT THE MAYTAG COMPANY. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE MODEL 44 ALL MODEL 40 SERIES HAD OVERLAPPING SERIAL NUMBERS STAMPED ON THE RIGHT FRONT LEG THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MODELS BEING THE POWER SOURCE. THE FOLLOWING SERIAL NUMBERS WOULD, BECAUSE OF THEIR DATES OF PRODUCTION, NECESSARILY BE MODEL 41'S OR MODEL 42'S

SERIAL # 6600 TO 18165       WERE PRODUCED MAY 1914 TO OCT. 1916

SERIAL # 18166 TO 20369     WERE PRODUCED OCT. 1946 TO DEC 1946

SERIAL # 20630 TO 33951     WERE PRODUCED 1917

SERIAL # 33952 TO 58184     WERE PRODUCED 1918 & 1919

SERIAL # 58185 TO 62637     WERE PRODUCED JAN. TO APR. 1920

ANOTHER 33623 MACHINES WERE PRODUCED BETWEEN APR. 1920 AND SEPT. 1928 WHEN THE MODEL 40 PRODUCTION CEASED.
